QUESTIONNAIRE CONSTRUCTION WITH R-SCRIPT
Operation Research deals with both objective and subjective optimization in Industry. Questionnaire based survey is the key to subjective optimization. Industrial productivity, Employee engagement. Industrial safety and Organizational citizenship depend on organizational design where in organizational and employee needs are optimized. One reliable and valid Questionnaire assists us to understand where to and how much change is to be made for optimization.
Questionnaire is the set of items having high discriminative and associative power with the research construct. The construct is multidimensional to gauge multidimensional attributes of construct. The questionnaire was invented by the Statistical Society of London in 1838. A copy of the instrument is published in the Journal of the Statistical Society, Volume 1, Issue 1, 1838, pages 5–13. Questionnaires have advantages over some other types of surveys in that they are cheap, do not require as much effort from the questioner as verbal or telephone surveys, and often have standardized answers that make it simple to compile data.
R script is useful to understand the reliability, validity and multidimensional attributes of the questionnaire as well as the construct.
R is widely taught in business courses. R is open source, comes for free and is widely known. Furthermore, R provides a multitude of numerical optimization packages that are readily available. At the same time, R is widely used in industry, making it a suitable and skillful tool to lever the potential of numerical optimization.
